Silent Auction

• The Nancy Floyd Haworth Foundation, a breast cancer fund raising organization,

was established in 1990 by Dr. and Mrs. Vaun Floyd, in memory of their daughter

Nancy, who died of breast cancer. Its mission is to provide information to the public

about breast cancer risk reduction screening, current treatment options, various

therapies, wellness programs, research funding and to provide support to breast

cancer patients. The funds received are donated to breast cancer related projects

in New Mexico.  At its fund raising once a year luncheon, free public seminars are

given by experts in breast cancer treatment options. And there is always a panel

discussion by breast cancer survivors and caregivers.

• The mission of the Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico is to improve education

through recognition, recruitment and professional development of outstanding

teachers. Since 1996, 74 teachers have received the prestigious Golden Apple

Award for Excellence in Teaching. In turn, these master teachers have provided

mentoring and professional development for 163 of New Mexico’s next generation of

teachers through the Golden Apple Scholars Program.

• The mission of the Special Programs Youth Assistance Foundation is to support the

youth and their families who are participating in the special programs offered by the

Juvenile Court in Bernalillo County.   The Foundation’s support services help ensure

that particpating youth successfully complete their program requirements and become

productive members of society instead of just recycling through the juvenile and adult

criminal justice systems.
